IDAHO FALLS -- Ruby Lucile Perry Christensen, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 17, 2010, at her home.
She was born July 27, 1926, at Independence, Idaho to Stephen LaVern Perry and Pauline Struhs Perry. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Madison High School.
On July 22, 1946, she married Keith Daniel Christensen in Rexburg, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 17, 1962. They resided in Pocatello, ID; Reno, NV; and Sacramento, CA before making their home in Idaho Falls. She was a devoted mother and homemaker and had also worked as a clerk, Bonneville County Nurse’s Assistant, bookkeeper, carrier clerk for the Sacramento Bee newspaper, and, for 17 years, as a substitute carrier for the U. S. Postal Service. Ruby and Keith started Christensen Fire Extinguisher Company in 1959, and it is still in business today.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions including Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher, Den Mother, and as a member of the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women’s Presidencies. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening, canning, and crafts. She especially loved her family and being with them.

Daughter: Kirma J. (Michael) Berg, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: K. Douglas (Linda) Christensen, Idaho Falls, ID
10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren
Brother: Dean Perry, Rexburg, ID
Brother: Clinton Perry, Boise, ID
Sister: Nona Miller, Sacramento, CA
Sister: Carma Wight, Hall, MT
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the Virlow LDS Church (2349 Virlow) with Bishop Frank Plain, of the Kearney 2nd Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.

We were sorry to hear of the death of Ruby. wish we could come to the funeral but we have two Grandchildren that are having graduations for us to go to. Know that we think of all of you often and have some great memories.
