Ruben DeJesus Huerta

Ruben DeJesus Huerta Monreal, 67, of Shelley, passed away July 10, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family.

Ruben was born February 5, 1959, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro Huerta Rocha and Petra Monreal Villarba. He grew up and attended schools in Parral. He later moved to Cd. Juarez where he worked different jobs.

On February 9, 1998, he married Eduviges Garcia in El Paso, Texas. Ruben and Eduviges made their home in El Paso where Ruben owned his own small business making uniforms for clinics, hospitals, and police officers. He loved sewing and spent all of his free time doing just that. They later moved to Shelley, Idaho, to be closer to their kids and grandkids.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Eduviges Huerta Garcia of Shelley, ID; stepdaughters, Viviana Garcia of Shelley, ID and Monica Esquivel of Shelley, ID; siblings, Javier Huerta, Margarita Huerta, Jose Socorro Huerta, Maria Elisa Huerta, Antonio Huerta, Carmen Julia Huerta, Leticia Huerta, Fidel Huerta, and Pedro Huerta, all of Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico; and 7 grandchildren, Flor Yvette Santos, Abigail Santos, Raul Santos, Johny Esquivel, Eric Esquivel, Alejandro M. Nuñez, and Ivana N. Nuñez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Ruben DeJesus Huerta Monreal, de 67 años y residente de Shelley, falleció el 10 de julio de 2026 en su hogar, bajo el cuidado de su amorosa familia.

Ruben nació el 5 de febrero de 1959 en Parral, Chihuahua, México, hijo de Pedro Huerta Rocha y Petra Monreal Villarba. Creció y asistió a la escuela en Parral. Más tarde se mudó a Ciudad Juárez, donde desempeñó diversos trabajos.

El 9 de febrero de 1998 contrajo matrimonio con Eduviges García en El Paso, Texas. La pareja estableció su hogar en El Paso, donde Ruben tuvo su propio pequeño negocio de confección de uniformes para clínicas, hospitales y cuerpos policiales. Le apasionaba la costura y dedicaba todo su tiempo libre a esta actividad. Posteriormente, se trasladaron a Shelley, Idaho, para estar más cerca de sus hijos y nietos.

A Ruben le sobreviven su amorosa esposa, Eduviges Huerta García, de Shelley, Idaho; sus hijastras, Viviana García de Shelley y Mónica Esquivel de Pocatello; sus hermanos, Javier Huerta, Margarita Huerta, José Socorro Huerta, María Elisa Huerta, Antonio Huerta, Carmen Julia Huerta, Leticia Huerta, Fidel Huerta y Pedro Huerta, todos ellos de Parral, Chihuahua, México; y sus siete nietos: Flor Yvette Santos, Abigail Santos, Raúl Santos, Johny Esquivel, Eric Esquivel, Alejandro M. Núñez e Ivana N. Núñez.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el miércoles 15 de julio de 2026 a las 11:00 a. m. en Wood Funeral Home East Side, ubicado en 963 S. Ammon Road. La familia recibirá a amigos y allegados de 10:00 a 10:45 a. m., antes de la ceremonia.
