Roy Jacobsen, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 19, 2015, at his home.
Roy was born January 1, 1924, in Rigby, Idaho, to Andrew Moroni Jacobsen and Mary Alice Thompson Jacobsen. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby and attended Rigby High School. Roy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
In 1945, he married Patty Lorraine Hall in Menan, Idaho. To this union were born two sons, Steven and Kenneth. Roy and Lorraine made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Roy worked as a welding engineer for Westinghouse Electric for 35 years until his retirement.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family. He was a good husband and father. He worked hard and lived well.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lorraine Jacobsen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Steven (Bonnie) Jacobsen of Emmett, ID; son, Kenneth (Carrolyn) Jacobsen of McCall, ID; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew M. Jacobsen, mother, Mary A. Jacobsen.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Taylor Cemetery, 720 East 129th South, Taylor, Idaho. The family invites you to come in casual dress.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
