Roy Brassinga

Roy McArthur Brassinga, 81, of Ammon, passed away January 10, 2024, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family.

Roy was born August 16, 1942, in Bundung, Indonesia, to Lucas Marines Brassinga and Julie Carrett Brassinga. He grew up and attended schools in San Lorenzo, California, and graduated from Arroyo High School. He also attended Oakland Tech and graduated in 1970.

On October 8, 1995, he married Mary King Brassinga in Oakdale, California. Roy and Mary made their home in Manteca, California, where Roy worked as an automotive mechanic for his own company, All Around Tire and Brake. He enjoyed working on cars and his 1967 Mustang.

Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Brassinga of Ammon, ID; daughter, Denise (Ben Lewis) Brassinga of Stockton, CA; son, Mark (Sarah Schottlaender) Brassinga of Munich, Germany; sister, Carmen (Walter) Preston of Fremont, CA; brother, Martin (Carol) Brassinga of Klamath Falls, OR; grandson, Mario (Christina Soto) Brassinga of Idaho Falls, ID; granddaughter, Savannah (Dustin Reedy) Scholl of Junction City, KS; grandson, Samuel Schottlaender of Munich, Germany; granddaughter, Sophia Schottlaender of Munich, Germany; granddaughter, Kassy Lewis of Stockton, CA; grandson, B.J. Lewis of Stockton, CA; great granddaughters, Jordan Brassinga and Adelina Brassinga; great grandsons, Xavier Brassinga, Mario Brassinga, Jr., and Robert Braun.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
