Rosemary Dixon

Rosemary Helen Dixon, 62, of Hamer, passed away November 29, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Solace Hospice and her loving family. Rosemary was born May 6, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Earl D. Gentle and Dorothy Rose Hope Gentle. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School in 1973. On November 8, 1975, she married Rand Oscar Dixon in Idaho Falls. To this union were born four children, Janell, Blake, Brian and Amanda. Rosemary and Rand made their home in Hamer, Idaho, where Rosemary worked as a librarian. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities. Rosemary also served for many years on the PTO, Hamer Friends of The Library and in Scouting. Anywhere she was called to help, she was there to help her community, friends and family. She enjoyed books, reading and George Strait. She loved her life on the ranch and spending time with her grandchildren. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Rand Dixon of Hamer, ID, daughter, Janell (Matthew) Goldsmith of Lincoln, CA, son, Blake (Hailey) Dixon of Rigby, ID, son, Brian (Karli) Dixon of Hamer, ID, daughter, Amanda (Steve) Genetti of Ririe, ID, sisters, Janet Brown of Idaho Falls, ID, Ann Jensen of Idaho Falls, ID, Erlene Morgan of Valley Center, KS, and Penny Raffety of Dillon, MT and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Gentle and sister, Nancy Gentle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, at the Hamer LDS Church, 2454 East 2100 North, with Bishop Robert Ball officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to the Hamer Public Library at 2450 East 2100 North, Hamer, Idaho 83425, or they may be received at the funeral services.
