Rosalie Arave Jamison, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully, September 2, 2016, at her home.
Rosalie was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1927, the oldest child of Orland Jay Arave and Grace Polson Arave. She attended schools in Taylor and Shelley, Idaho, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1945. Rosalie worked at the Bell Telephone Company and saved money to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and Utah State College in Logan, Utah. Rosalie studied music and sang in the choir, touring the state with the music fraternity Alpha Eta Mu and singing in the opera chorus for Il Travatore. She also completed a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central Atlantic States, serving in North Carolina and Virginia. She later met her husband, Delmar Reed Jamison, at a missionary reunion in April, 1952 and they were married June 4, 1953.
Rosalie and Delmar were married for 53 years and raised 10 children together. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with them. She was an active member of the LDS community, serving 3 additional voluntary missions with her husband in Arkansas, Salt Lake City, and the Family History Center in Idaho Falls. She dedicated her life to her faith and to the music community in Idaho Falls. Over the years, she encouraged a love for music within generations of local piano and organ students, teaching within the community for approximately 62 years. She also played the piano and organ at hundreds of different church and community events, continuing to play for her church congregation all throughout her life.
