IONA, ID -- Rosa Elizabeth Schwieder Knowles, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 27, 2008, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
She was born February 17, 1919, in Iona, Idaho to Arthur William Schwieder and Louella Keller Schwieder. She grew up and attended schools in the area.
On December 23, 1938, she married Phil Conrad Knowles in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2008. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked as a Weight Watchers lecturer.
Rosa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions including Relief Society President and Young Women's President. She also enjoyed callings in the Genealogy Program and as a canning chairperson. Her hobbies included poetry, crocheting, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, 4 sisters, and 1 brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Iona Central Building, 5169 E. Denning, with Bishop Robert Nield, of the Iona LDS 8th Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road) and Monday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
