ROSA KNOWLES Click here to view a tribute of Rosa's life IONA, ID -- Rosa Elizabeth Schwieder Knowles, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 27, 2008, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice. She was born February 17, 1919, in Iona, Idaho to Arthur William Schwieder and Louella Keller Schwieder. She grew up and attended schools in the area. On December 23, 1938, she married Phil Conrad Knowles in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2008. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked as a Weight Watchers lecturer. Rosa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions including Relief Society President and Young Women's President. She also enjoyed callings in the Genealogy Program and as a canning chairperson. Her hobbies included poetry, crocheting, and cooking. Rosa’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Pam and Julie of Aspen Hospice. Survivors include: Daughter: Phyllis Moad Daughter: Connie (Gordon) Jorgensen Son: Arthur Conrad (Joyce) Knowles Son: John Phillip (SanDee) Knowles Brother: Phil Schwieder Brother: Reuben Schwieder Brother: Harold Schwieder Sister: Anna Lamb 13 Grandchildren & 23 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, 4 sisters, and 1 brother. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Iona Central Building, 5169 E. Denning, with Bishop Robert Nield, of the Iona LDS 8th Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road) and Monday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
