Ronald Lynn Thorngren

Ronald Lynn Thorngren, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 28, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

Ronald was born January 12, 1942, in Rigby, Idaho, to Vernal and Lydia Thorngren. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Butte High School. He joined the Navy in 1960 and was on the USS Fletcher.

On January 25, 1968, he married the love of his life, JoLee Messenger in Idaho Falls. Ronald and JoLee made their home in Idaho Falls where Ronald worked as a carpenter superintendent at the INEL for various construction companies.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed gold panning, rock hounding, boxing, doing yard work, playing with his dog, Thor, and spending time with his family.

Ronald is survived by his children, Sherree (Gary) Engelstad of Idaho Falls, ID, Kellie (Shane) Monson of Idaho Falls, ID, Trina Adams of Idaho Falls, ID, Veronica Courtnier of Idaho Falls, ID, Tricia (Heath) Blackburn of Rigby, ID; brothers and sisters, Larry, Kent, Karen, and Judy; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoLee Thorngren; son, Scott Crumley; grandson, Jacob Courtnier; parents, Vernal and Lydia Thorngren; brother, Dan Thorngren; and dog, Pogo.

Private family services will be held.
