Ronald Walter Lindsay, 78, of Rexburg, passed away January 26, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Ronald was born May 30, 1945, in Altadena, California, to Merle Ronald Lindsay and Martha Eva Anderson Lindsay. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He later earned his bachelor’s degree at Lewis & Clark College. On July 2, 1991, he married Deanne Van Leeuwen in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ron worked as a painting contractor for most of his adult life.
Ronald was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. He loved being in the outdoors spending his time fishing and hunting. He was also a gifted in singing and painting. Most of all he loved his wife and children.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Deanne Lindsay of Rexburg, ID; children, Ronald (Christa) Lindsay, Jr. of Highland, UT, Bethany Lindsay of Dallas, TX, Cicely (Brent) Orchard of Henderson, NV, Brady (Keiza) Lindsay of Decatur, TX, Donna (Jerry) Schlegelmilch of Sugar City, ID, and Debby (Victor) Gonzalez of Stewart, VA; 31grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and all of his siblings, Regina, Roberta, David, Georgette, and George (twins), Mary (Pearl), Elizabeth, and Leone.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Rexburg 15th Ward, 166 S 1st E, Rexburg, Idaho, with Bishop Morris Christensen officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery- Blackfoot. Military Honors will be performed by the Bingham County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
