Ronald Lee (Lefty) Flitton, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 13, 2023, at his home.
Ronald was born July 17, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, to Orville Flitton and Lila Anderson. His parents were later divorced when he was the tender age of 2. He was raised by his Uncle George and Aunt Ann Downs. He had one half brother, Dan Flitton, and two half sisters, Claudia Taylor and Kristy Robey.
Ronald grew up in Idaho Falls, and attended Riverside Elementary, OE Bell Jr. High, and Idaho Falls High School. He served in the National Guard and Reserves for 8 years and worked for Pettingill Furniture and BMC West.
On May 24, 1958, he married Marilyn Ann Squires. To this union, three children were born, Brad, Ric, and Rauna. This marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, temple on July 10, 1976. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving and held many callings, including bishop. He and Marilyn served an 18 month mission in the Denver Colorado South Mission from 2007-2008.
Ronald was an outstanding sportsman. He was inducted into the softball hall of fame in 2004. He was an avid hunter and golfer. Ronald is survived by his three children, Brad (Arlene) Flitton, of Idaho Falls, ID, Ric Flitton, of Idaho Falls, ID, and Rauna (Kelly) Johnson, of North Ogden, UT; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn, his parents, granddaughter, Haily Flitton, and his grandson, Shawn Johnson.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Cedar Ridge Ward, 3195 South Holmes. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
