Ronald W. Barnes

Ronald W. Barnes, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 5, 2026, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Ron was born August 30, 1958, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Clifton W. Barnes and Patty Vilate Hodges Barnes. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. After high school, Ron joined the United States Navy where he served his country for over 20 years.

In July of 1991, Ron married Virginia Minorias in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were blessed with 3 children. Ron and Virginia were later divorced. On October 11, 2002, he married Mary Lou Martin in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ronald and Mary Lou made their home in Idaho Falls, where Ron worked as a mechanic for Holst Truck Parts in Ucon.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ron enjoyed working on cars, reading, camping and riding four-wheelers.

Ron is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Barnes of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Michael Barnes of Vancouver, WA, son, Richard (Symona) Barnes of Blackfoot, ID; daughter, Mary Ann (Josh) Beltran of Boise, ID; step-son, Jesse Lynn Williams of Pittsburgh, PA; step-son, Lester (Tracy) Minorias of Lincolnton, NC; sister, Kathy Hodson of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Debra (Gerry) Rouleau of Idaho Falls, ID; and 9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Ucon Cemetery, 3960 105th North. Military honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Navy Military Honor Guard.
