Ronnie Lynn Meyer, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 30, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Home Health and Hospice. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff, especially Dr. John Miller, and Aspen Home Health for their excellent care of Ron.
Ron was born September 10, 1945, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ernest William Meyer and Helen Adams Meyer. He attended school in Iona and graduated from Bonneville High School. Ron worked as a welder, truck driver, mechanic, and farmed in the Iona area for over forty years.
On June 24, 1971, he married the love of his life, Winona Jean Izatt, at Ririe, Idaho. To this union were born a daughter and son, Carla and Jay. Ron and Winona lived in Idaho Falls for almost forty-two years.
Ron's passion was his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as farming. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, woodworking, welding and other metal work.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Winona;
Daughter: Carla (John) Rice of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Jay (Natalie) Meyer of Rigby, ID;
Granddaughters: Danielle Rice of Idaho Falls, ID, and
Aslynn, Lauren, and Brooklyn Meyer of Rigby, ID;
Grandson: Joshua Rice of Idaho Falls, ID;
His mother: Helen Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister: Janice (Ed) Hahn of Idaho Falls, ID;
Brothers: Clyde Meyer and Alan (Elise) Meyer, both of Idaho Falls, ID;
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest William Meyer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Byard Cox officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to services Monday, both at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
