Roma Staples Grant, 91, of Rigby, passed away August 28, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Roma was born June 30, 1919 in Martin’s Flat near Blacktail, in Bonneville County, Idaho, to Moroni Andrew Alexander Staples and Caroline Thueson Staples. She attended schools in Enterprise, District 18 and Central High School. She lived in Idaho Falls, Osgood, and Ririe.
She married Edward Murtaugh Grant on January 9, 1940, in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in 1954 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Ed preceded her in death on April 13, 1975. She worked for many years in potato processing for Idaho Potato Growers and Pro-Ida.
Roma was a member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a primary teacher. She also served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at the hospital. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children, Rodney Edward Grant, Kent Murtaugh Grant and Carol Ann Grant; three sisters, Ellen Hathaway, Dora Coffee and Fay Jones; three brothers, Paul Staples, Kyle Staples, and Leslie Staples; and one grandson, Jeffery Fryer.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. with Bishop Danny Ferguson of the Shelton LDS Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
