Rolly Morgan

Raughlin Lavere Morgan, 79, of Ammon, passed away August 12, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Rolly was born on September 16, 1931, in Lorenzo, Idaho, to Floyd Morgan and Mabel Billman Morgan. He attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Idaho Falls Business College. He joined the Army in 1948 and at the age of nineteen became a Master Sargent. He represented our nation during the Korean War. He married Beverly Hammer in 1956 and was blessed with a beautiful daughter Andi “Debbie” Morgan, however later they divorced. Rolly married Carol Janette White on April 14, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Idaho Falls ,where this union was blessed with four wonderful children, Desiree, Steve, Holly and Amy. Rolly was employed at Stoddard Ford and Taylor Chevrolet. Rolly owned and operated a car lot in Boise for 15 years and then returned to Idaho Falls where the couple has resided for the last 12 years. Rolly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed race horses, fishing, hunting, snow-machining, and spending quality time with family. Survivors include: Wife: Carol J. Morgan of Ammon, Idaho Daughter: Andi (Steve) Rosene of Houston, Texas Daughter: Desiree (Richard) Anderson of Shelley, Idaho Son: Steve Morgan of Boise, Idaho Daughter: Holly Mitchell of Boise, Idaho Daughter: Amy S. Morgan of Boise, Idaho Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren Brother: Marvin Morgan of Idaho Falls, Idaho Sister: Carol Miller of Sparks, Nevada He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and granddaughter, Morgan Mitchell. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Veteran rites will be performed by the Jefferson County (Rigby) VFW.
