Rollo "R.J." Ward

Rollo John Ward, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 13, 2018, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, from injuries received in a trucking accident, due to an unexpected spring blizzard. R.J. was born May 27, 1956, in Townsend, Montana, to Mark Brown Ward and Jessie Vera Parker Ward. He grew up and attended schools in Toston, Montana; Hibbard, Idaho; and attended Madison Jr. High and Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. He also attended Eastern Idaho Technical College where he earned his trucking certificate. On December 10, 1983, he married Shirley Lynn Hohman in Hibbard, Idaho, and a year later they were sealed together in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born five children, Chane, Jared, Candace, Isaac and Sauncerae. R.J. and Shirley made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where R.J. worked as a truck driver for Super T Transport trucking company. He also owned his own tree and shrub trimming business which was called "RJ scissor hands." R.J. was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed reading scriptures and listening to general conference. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, fishing and riding horses, but he especially loved time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren. R.J. is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Shirley Hohman of Ammon, ID; son, Chane (Tiffany) Hohman of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jared (Meagan) Hohman of Woodstock, GA; daughter, Candace (Ron) Rogers of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Isaac (Sarah) Hohman of Dallas, GA; daughter, Sauncerae "Sunny" (Caleb) Lee of Dallas, GA; 7 grandchildren, with one more grandchild on the way; siblings, Helen Dilmore of Honeyville, UT; Elwin "Jay" (Karla) Ward of Idaho Falls, ID; Katie Stacey of Harrisville, UT; Treva Ward of Rexburg, ID; and Roger (Genia) Ward of Mendon, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Jessie Ward; four brothers, Gene and Dean Ward (twins), LeGrande Ward, Denis Ward, and a brother-in-law, Richard Stacey. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Ammon LDS 26th Ward, 1100 South Tiebreaker Drive, Ammon, Idaho 83406, with Bishop Sam Pinson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
