Roger James Ottersbach, 64, of Ammon, passed away February 14, 2011 at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. Roger was born November 3, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky, to William Jay Ottersbach and Mary Elizabeth Gagel Ottersbach. He graduated from Manual High School in Louisville. He attended Louisville Technical Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Roger married Nancy Carol Ulrich on November 11, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky. Their marriage was solemnized in 1985 in the Atlanta, Georgia, LDS Temple. They lived in Louisville, Kentucky and Mooresville, North Carolina before moving to Ammon in 2005. Roger held different jobs over the years, including real estate sales and contracting. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Roger enjoyed cycling, chess, canoeing, sailing and hiking, camping and water skiing. Survivors include: Wife: Nancy Ottersbach, Ammon, ID Daughter: Heather Lynn (Mike) Smith, Ammon, ID Daughter: Holly Gail (Ryan) Smith, San Diego, CA Brother: Dennis (Sue) Ottersbach, Louisville, KY Two grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Rd. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
