Rodney Darryl “Rod” Dawson, 74, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away October 18, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of natural causes.
Rod was born August 14, 1937, in Nampa, Idaho, to Nathaniel C. Dawson and Bessie Margret Wolfe Dawson. He grew up in Nampa and attended schools there. He has lived most of his life in Caldwell and moved to Idaho Falls six years ago.
He married Deanna Woods July 4, 1984, in Caldwell, Idaho. Rod worked as a construction foreman.
Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends.

three sons, Kerry (Eileen) Dawson of Homedale, ID,
LaWrell (Jodee) Cook of Clifton, ID,
Wesley Daniel (Annette) Cook of Las Vegas, NV;
two daughters, DeanNa (Brent) Burns of Ririe, ID, and
Penny (James) Otto of Austin, TX; and
three sisters, Joan, Jane, and Natalie.
24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael, two brothers, Alan and Bill, and a grandson, Nathaniel.
A Life Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 531 Second West, Ririe, Idaho.
