Robin Gerard

ROBIN GERARD IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- On February 17, 1951, an angel was born to Harry C. "Jack" Gerard and Doris L. Gerard of Terreton Idaho. Robin Abbott Gerard joined his siblings, Dorine (Potter), Jim (Gerard), Mary (Wallace), Janet (Black), and Julie (Dillon). Robin grew up in the Mud Lake community, living with his parents until 1988, when he moved to Idaho Falls to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Farrell K. "Oly" Black. After Janet's death in 2007, Oly continued to lovingly care for Robin until his death. Robin is survived by his brother-in-law, Oly Black of Idaho Falls; a brother, James H. Gerard of Basalt; two sisters, Mary Wallace of Orinda, California, and Julie G. Dillon of San Francisco, California; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Robin was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his Mama and Daddy (Jack and Doris), his sisters, Dorine Potter and Janet Black, and his beloved Keno(s) and Flipper. Robin loved simple things in life; Mickey Mouse, participating in the Special Olympics, watching the clothes on the clothesline blowing in the wind, any type of music (the louder, the better), and bowling. As a family, we were blessed to have Robin in our lives and we thank God that we were entrusted with his care. Thank you to Robin's nurses and caregivers who helped make it possible for Robin to live at home these past few years. A small family gathering has been scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., to be followed by a graveside service. A celebration of Robin's life will be planned for later this summer. Today heaven is a little brighter and our world is a little quieter. ---------------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Barbara Galloway BJGalloway@aol.com I had the opportunity to know and work with Robin. We went, at that time, to the same doctor, Dr. Arbon. Sometimes Doris and Robin would come to the First Christian Church. That was years ago but I still fondly remember Robin and the special talent he had for making you want to watch him move his hands and fingers around. He had an infectious smile and I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Rest easy, Robin. Cosette Landon cosyleoland@yahoo.com So sorry to hear of your loss. Pray God well comfort and give you peace Love Cosette
