Robin Renee Dorough-Black

Robin Renee Dorough-Black, 64, of Ashton, peacefully passed away August 29, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Robin was born January 27, 1957, in Burbank, California, to Emmett Dave Dorough and Johan Harvey Dorough.  She grew up and attended schools in Simi Valley, California, and graduated from Royal High School. She also attended Salt Lake Community College and Brigham Young University, where she earned her degree in Nursing. Robin worked much of her life as a Registered Nurse, compassionately caring for others in all stages of life.

On April 23, 1977, she married Don Reid Black in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They later divorced in 1995, and remained the best of friends.  Robin met David "Barry" Adams who became her adventure partner, and eventually, the love of her life. They shared a passion for rivers and red rock.  Robin and Barry built their dream home in Ashton, Idaho.

She enjoyed all things outdoors. She was an avid camper, kayaker, river rafter, and rock hounder, but above all else, she deeply loved her family and made the world’s greatest Jamma.

Robin is survived by her partner in love, David "Barry" Adams of Ashton, ID; sons, Gregory Black of Ogden, UT, and Dalan Adams of Pinedale, WY; daughters, Audra Kunard of Mukilteo, WA, and Leslie Finch of Draper, UT; mother, Johan Dorough of Springville, UT; former husband, Don Reid Black; brothers, Brett Dorough, and Matthew (Brynn) Dorough; sisters, Holly Dorough, and Stacy (Kirk) Baker; grandchildren, Keimon, Atticus, Lyric, Tyler, Tanner, Ellie, Jack, and Mila; and great-grandchildren, KJ, and Kingston.

She was preceded in death by her father, and beloved sister, Marcella Lynn Dorough.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance.
