Roberto Trejo Guzman

Roberto Trejo Guzman, 63, of Iona, passed away March 5, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Roberto was born September 19, 1960, in Zimapan, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Roberto Trejo and Maria Guzman. He grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States.

On August 18, 1995, he married Joyce Beverly Colby in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Roberto and Joyce made their home in Iona, Idaho, where Roberto was a business owner at Tienda La Hidalguense. Joyce passed away September 28, 2018.

He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed working at his store and his yearly trips to Mexico.

Roberto is survived by his son, Roberto Antonio Trejo of Iona, ID; stepchildren, Cleo Cruz of Iona, ID, Frank Cruz of Pocatello, ID, Nick Cruz of Idaho Falls, ID, Mike Leal of Idaho Falls, ID, and Arthur Southwick of Utah; grandchildren, Thalia Sanchez, Karina Sanchez, Jessica Juarez, Luis Venegas, Jose Venegas; brothers, Antonio, Oscar, Sergio, Gustavo, and Jesus; sisters, Isabel, Irma, Lourdes, and Cita; and many great grandchildren, including the two he was closest to, Yahir Chavez and Adriel Portillo.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
