Roberta Campbell

Roberta Ann Wickham Campbell, age 85, passed from this life at her home in Iona, surrounded by her family on April 12, 2018. Roberta was born to Ronald Bertrand Wickham and Phoebe Ann Wickham on January 12, 1933, in Wilford, Idaho. Roberta’s father passed prior to her birth. She grew up with her three brothers and one older sister on the family farm, until her mother remarried Russell Wright and they relocated to St. Anthony. She graduated from South Fremont High School in 1951, and then worked in St. Anthony for several years after high school before relocating to Idaho Falls to attend beauty school. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Earl Campbell, on April 17, 1965, and the two of them raised two wonderful children, Melonie Kay Campbell Gardner and Russell Kenneth Campbell. She worked as a beautician until 1966, when she left the beauty parlor to become a mother. She continued her work as a beautician out of her home for several years after. Roberta was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She had a quick wit and great sense of humor. She loved to spend her spare time crocheting or reading and had a great affinity for shopping. Her absolute favorite past time was spending any moment she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to honor Roberta and remember her love are her husband, Kenneth Earl Campbell, two children, Melonie Kay Campbell Gardner and Russell Kenneth Campbell, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many other children that loved her and called her grandma. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings. The family would like to give a special thanks to East Idaho Hospice for their assistance in making Roberta comfortable during her last days. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Iona Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East, with Bishop Ryan J. Reeves of the Iona 5th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. The services will be followed by a graveside service at Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho.
