Robert Glenn Thompson, 63 , of Idaho Falls, passed away, Monday, December 23 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with his health. He was born May 4, 1950 in Great Falls, Montana, to Rao Glenn Thompson and Helen Weber Thompson. He attended Emerson and Hillview Schools and graduated from Bonneville High School. Robert joined and served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Nida Estomata on December 19, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada . Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 30, 2003. Robert was a truck driver where he received the Two Million Mile Award for truck driving accident free. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held the office of High Priest and faithfully served in many callings including Sunday School President, Gospel Doctrine Sunday School teacher and home teacher. Robert loved to watch football and especially enjoyed watching his son, Ephraim play football at Bonneville High School. Robert was a kind friend to all, never meeting a stranger. He especially loved his family who he always kept in close contact with. He could often be found listening to or studying his scriptures. He is survived by his wife, Nida of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Ephraim Thompson of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Nerissa E. Thompson of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Samantha Thompson of Idaho Falls; Step-son, Arturo (Susan) Thompson of MN; Brother, Jim (Beth) Thompson of Winnemuca, NV; Sister, Lynn (Theron)Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Marsha (Gary) Walton of Shelley, ID; Sister, Carol (David) Snarr of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Barbara (Kent) Aplanalp, Hurricane, UT; Sister, Vicki (Curtis) Kawaguchi of Roy, UT; Sister, Wendy Thompson of UT; 4 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary and step-mother, Erma Thompson Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Willowcreek LDS (6925 N. 15th East) with Bishop Jason Hales officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
