Robert David Scheets, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 12, 2012, at his home, from a rare blood clot in his liver.
He was born September 23, 1955, to Vernon John Scheets and Helen Reed Scheets in Idaho Falls. Robbie grew up and attended elementary, junior high and high school in Idaho Falls.
He met Karen Andreason and they were married in 1976. Together they raised three children; Brandon, Nicole and Jeremy. They were later divorced.
He later married Teresa Herrera in 1991, who had two daughters: Brandi and Jennifer, and one son, Todd. It was commonly said we were the “Brady Bunch.”
Robbie started working with his father and brother at the Stardust Restaurant in Idaho Falls. He was so little he would have to stand on a stool in the kitchen to do the dishes. Eventaully Robbie started to cook. He left the Stardust and started working for the INL in 1983 and became a chef in the cafeteria. He worked for twenty-years and later went on disability.
Robbie enjoyed camping, fishing and going to family reunions. His favorite was playing bingo, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Stepdaughter: Jennifer McMurtrey of Rigby, ID
Sister: Marlyn (Clyde) Haegle from Coeur d’Alene
Brother: Dick (Brenda) Scheets, Coeur d’Alene, ID
and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Fielding Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, prior to leaving for the cemetery.
