Robert Lewis “Bob” Salsgiver, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 11, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Bob was born October 26, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Robert Lewis Salsgiver and Mary Elenor Burchfield Salsgiver. He grew up and attended schools in Youngstown and graduated from Artesia High School. Bob lived in Lakewood, California, until he moved to Idaho Falls in 1993.
He married Sherree Farnes and they were later divorced, although she remained his best friend and companion.
Bob was a man of all trades. He worked at Idaho Travertine in Idaho Falls, the vodka plant in Rigby, the Grand Teton Mall, and as a mechanic at GPOD in Shelley.
Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, and going for long drives in the country. He liked to work on cars and spend time with his family and friends. He liked to spend his time reading western books and watching old-time western movies.
Bob is survived by his:
Companion of 10 years, Sherree Farnes of Idaho Falls;
Son, Robert Paul Salsgiver of Ohio;
Daughter, Sara Salsgiver of California;
Brother, Daniel (Renee) Salsgiver of North Carolina;
Sister, Peggy (Love Milton) Groth of North Carolina;
Sister, Lisa ( Frank) Kuck of Idaho Falls, ID;
Granddaughter, Savannah and Grandson, Roland and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Denise Salsgiver.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Fielding Memorial Park with Ryan Reeves officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
