Robert Nelson

Robert M. "Bob" Nelson, 54, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls due to complications from cancer. Bob was born June 28, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Donald Ritchie Nelson and Margaret Betty Kronberg Nelson. He grew up in Idaho Falls and went to Bonneville High School. Bob married Rosemary Anne Bell March 26, 1977, in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the Elks Lodge. He worked alongside many great people as a heavy equipment operator at INTEC on the INL since 1979. Bob was truly a devoted son, outstanding husband and father, as well as a remarkable brother, grandfather, friend, and man. He loved fishing, boating, 4-wheeling, stealing away to Jackpot with Rose, and being surrounded by family and friends. He especially loved getting together with his gang and going on fun filled camping trips. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rosemary, a son, David R. Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; a daughter, Lindsay Nelson Davis of Bakersfield, CA; a grandson, Konnor R. Davis; his mother, Margaret Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; three brothers, James “Dan” (Melinda) Nelson and Roger K. (Jerri) Nelson of Boise, ID, and William “Bill” (Kathy) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID, and a sister, Betty J. (Todd) Simon of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ritchie Nelson. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Kent Lott of the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln First Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., both visitations at Wood East Side. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
