Robert Clint Hansen, 90, of Downey, passed away June 9, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Bob was born November 15, 1927, in American Falls, Idaho, to Jacob Peter Hansen and Julia Johansen Hansen, the youngest of 8 boys with one younger sister Betty. He was raised on the family dry farm near Roy, Idaho. He attended grade school in a one room school near the farm and continued his education and graduated from Logan High School. Bob served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, then attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. On July 13, 1952, he married Laura Janell Cowman in Rockland, Idaho, at the First Congregational Church. Soon after their marriage they made their home on a ranch in Downey, Idaho, where they worked side by side. To this union were born two children, Steven and Tina. He was an avid snowmobiler with his family. His grandchildren and great grandson started snowmobiling so young they’d fall to sleep in his arms on the snowmobile, ending very special days. He enjoyed raising colts, pheasant and deer hunting, fishing and annual family vacations. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Laura Janell Hansen of Downey, ID; son, Steven (Sherri) Hansen of Ashton, ID; daughter, Tina Hansen of Downey, ID; sister, Betty Hansen of Logan, UT; two grandsons, Kamron, Westley, and one great grandson Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Oswald, Donald, Reed, Raymond, Clyde, Roy, and Lavard. He was a Born Again Christian. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Rockland Congregational Church (corner of South Pine and East Paiute). The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior. Burial will be in Rockland Valley View Cemetery in Rockland, Idaho. Military Rites will be performed by the Power County Veterans Memorial Team and the Army Honor Guard.
