GARY HAMMERLAND
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gary Hammerland, 64, passed away Sunday May 14, 2006, following a courageous fight with many health problems.
Gary was born August 3, 1941, in Brigham City, Utah, to Lance Hammerland and Patricia Ford Hammerland. He was raised in Corinne, Utah, and graduated in 1959 from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah.
He married Diana Jensen in 1959. They were later divorced. He married Janee Nelson February 25, 1984 in Corinne, Utah. He worked in the farm equipment industry for most of his life. He was employed by Snake River Equipment, David Steed and Associates and Tractor Sales. He thoroughly enjoyed the friendships and associations with many farmers in the area.
He enjoyed trips with his family, especially to Disneyland, Branson, Nashville and Florida. Gary particularly loved explosive celebrations on the 4th of July with his children and grandchildren. It was a time when his family looked forward to gathering at his house to watch the parade, barbecue, and light fireworks.
He is survived by his wife Janee and their children Cash, Boise; Luke, Carson and Faith, all of Idaho Falls. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage: Jan (Canyon) Anderson, Lance (Sue Zan) Hammerland and Margaret (Derek) Evans, Bountiful, Utah; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also survived by his sisters, Patsy (Myrl) Wells, Corinne, Utah; Joy Hammerland, Ogden, Utah; Margaret (Kenneth) Birch, Perry, Utah and a brother Ford (Bev) Hammerland, Soda Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Marie.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday May 17, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS Central Stake Center, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls, and Wednesday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Ammon Cemetery.
Gary's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Gem State Dialysis for the loving care they gave him during the past two-and-a-half years.
