Robert "Bob" Ludwig Drexler, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 29, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Bob was born September 27, 1930, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Ludwig Andrew Drexler and Suzanna Estella Smith Drexler. He grew up and attended schools in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School. He also attended University of Idaho where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Afterward, Robert was a Lieutenant serving in the United States Army as a Mechanical Supervisor.
On June 11, 1955, he married Mattie Joan Jensen in Twin Falls. Bob and Joan made their home in Idaho Falls, where Bob worked as a Mechanical Engineer at INL.
He was a 70-year parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1663. Bob was a licensed professional engineer (PE) for over 60 years. On Tuesdays, for the last 22 years, Bob could be found volunteering at the Museum of Idaho.
He enjoyed creating things in his shops, as engineering was a hobby as well as a profession. He loved boating, whether canoeing or in his antique wooden boat. He was an avid outdoorsman engaged in fishing, hunting, motorcycling, and cross-country skiing. Bob was quite the storyteller, and with 95 years of experiences, he had a story for nearly any occasion.
Bob is survived by his son, Andy (Michelle) Drexler of Battle Ground, WA; son, Ben (Tara) Drexler of Firth, ID; daughter, Sr. Sue Ellen Drexler of Cottonwood, ID; brother, Larry Drexler of Twin Falls, ID; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
