ROBERT A. COLLINS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Robert Allen Collins, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 23, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. He was born April 29, 1920, in Logan, Utah, to Arthur Allen Collins and Louise Dunlop Collins. He grew up and attended schools in Logan, Utah, then Soda Springs and Herman, Idaho. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Verla Annis Elliott December 12, 1948, in Lincoln, Idaho. They ranched summers in Gray’s Lake, Idaho, and made their home in Idaho Falls, where he owned and operated Midstate Transport, Inc. and Robert Collins Pipe Company. Verla passed away October 8, 2005. He served as a Justice of the Peace at Gray’s Lake, was on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Motor Transportation Association, and on the Gray’s Lake/Bone Road Improvement Committee. He enjoyed photography, electronics, reading, local history research and writing, golf, and spending time with his granddaughter, Bobbie Cleverley, and his “adopted” children, Susan Cleverley and Mark and LouAnne Johnson, of Idaho Falls. Surviving are: Son: Richard Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Cheryl Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Reo Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Carol Stafford of Salt Lake City, UT Brother-In-Law: Fay C. Riley Brother-In-Law: Zane Caldwell Sister-In-Law: Molly Caldwell 1 Granddaughter He was preceded in death by his wife, Verla, a sister, Barbara Riley, two brothers, Charles Collins and Harold Michael Bewes, and a grandson, Brent Richard Collins. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team
