Robert "Bob" Butler

Robert Verl Butler, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 15, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after a lingering illness. Bob was born July 31, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Alvin Dewayne Butler and Inez Lavina Bates Butler. He attended school at New Sweden Elementary, O. E. Bell Jr. High, and Idaho Falls High School. He achieved his goal of obtaining his GED when he was 17 years old. Bob served as a Radioman 3rd Class in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On January 26, 1968, he married Allona May Brammer in Iona, Idaho. To this union were born two daughters, Cynthia and Trina. Bob was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls. Bob worked as a furniture salesman at Park Avenue Furniture for twenty years before his retirement. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to fish. He enjoyed bowling, reading, and the Oakland Raiders. Bob is survived by his loving spouse Allona; Daughter, Cynthia (Frank) Davis of Hampton, NJ; Daughter, Trina (Mike) Hanson of Kuna, ID; Brother, Arlan (Bev) Butler of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Ron Butler of Whittier, CA; Brother, Kim (Evelyn) Butler of Los Angeles, CA; Sister, Sharon Rowbury of Anaheim, CA; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Butler. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Mike Hanson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home.
