Robert "Bob Branson" Branson

Robert Merril Branson, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 11, 2010 at his home. He was born August 9, 1939 in Rigby, Idaho to Robert Emerson Branson and Donna Brown Branson. He grew up in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He lived in Oregon, Arizona, and Germany before settling in Idaho Falls. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob served his country in the United States Army with the Military Police during the Vietnam War. On June 12, 1959, he married JoAnn Fallis in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised six children. JoAnn passed away in January of 2000. Bob worked as an industrial mechanic at the INL for 36 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, hunting, hiking, fishing, and camping. He was an avid member of the United Steel Union Survivors include: Son: Robert Joe Branson Son: Brian David Branson Daughter: Lucinda “Cindy” Analee Bishop Daughter: Susanna Michelle Isaacson Daughter: Jennifer Angelina Branson Daughter: Alesha Joann Branson Sisters: Charlene West & Karen Rockwood 30 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife JoAnn, and his granddaughter Jode Branson Funeral services will take place at 12 Noon, Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Pioneer LDS Chapel (2020 South Charlotte) with Bishop Todd Shepherd officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Wood Funeral Home, (273 North Ridge Avenue) and from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
