Robert D. Wise (better known as "Bob") passed away at his home from natural causes at the age of 88, on December 14, 2019.
Bob was born on July 2, 1931, the third of eight children born to Bill and Edath Wise. Bob married the love of his life, Doris Russell, on October 5, 1950. He and Doris were both raised in the Idaho Falls area and they also raised their five wonderful children in Idaho Falls. Bob worked very hard at various jobs over the years to provide for his family. Bob retired from his job as a forklift operator at Basic American Foods in 1996. He was an accomplished guitar player and he also played professionally to help supplement his income. After Bob retired, he enjoyed playing his guitar with family and friends. He also enjoyed camping and fishing with Doris and the family, including his kids, his brothers and sisters, and even his grandkids. Bob also took up the hobby of making beautiful clocks, pictures, and other artwork made from wood with a scroll saw. Bob was known by all to be a kind and gentle man and he will surely be missed.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Edath Wise; two brothers, Billy and Ronnie Wise; a sister, Delores Wise Ralston; two sons, Danny and Jack Wise; a granddaughter, Stacey Hemplerly. Also, by way of honorable mention, Bob is preceded in death by his brother in-law, best friend, and fellow band member, Lew Robbins. Bob, his sister, Ladean, and Lew spent many years playing and singing together.
Bob is survived in death by his wife of 69 years, Doris Wise; a sister, Ladean Robbins; brothers, Larry Wise (wife, Joyce), Gene Wise (wife, Betty), Dennis Wise (wife, Peggy); daughters, Linda Clark, Karen Getsinger (husband, Kevin), Judy Hemplerly (husband Rick); ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a big thank you to the employees of Encompass Hospice and EICAP for taking such good care of Bob.
