Robert Boyd “Bob” Johnson, 58, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his home. Bob was born June 18, 1953, in Richland, Washington, to Jack Johnson and Roberta Boyd Johnson. He attended Stadium Junior High School and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He continued his education at Idaho State University. Bob lived in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada, before returning to Idaho Falls in 1981. In 1985, Bob and DeeAnne Parsons Bush began a long-lasting relationship that continued throughout their lives. He became a father to DeeAnne’s two sons. He was the owner and operator of VW Bob’s Auto Repair. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and visiting with his customers – and his customers enjoyed visiting with him. Bob was a musician who played the guitar, sang, and wrote music. When he was in school, he was involved in debate, golf, and chess. He loved dogs, sports of all kinds, and Civil War history. Bob was a legendary motorcycle enthusiast and shared his love of riding with friends near and far. Bob’s survivors include Wife: DeeAnne Bush-Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Thomas Paul Bush of Boise, ID; Son: Jayson (Nicole) Bush of Pocatello, ID; Mother: Roberta Johnson of Spokane, WA; Brother: James Johnson of Harrington, WA; Uncles and Aunts: Billie Burbridge of Spokane, WA; Gene (Charlene) Boyd of Hayden Lake, ID; Dr. and Mrs. Antonioli of Butte, MT; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews he loved to play with. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Johnson. A Gathering will take from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date; location, day, and time to be announced.
