Robert "Brother Bob" Harrington

Robert Ray "Brother Bob" Harrington, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 18, 2017, at his home. Peacefully, he has started a new journey, to entertain new friends and old with his quick wit, his one liners and his harmonica. Undoubtedly, hanging out with the rest of the "Shaggers" who have started their own journeys, stirring up old memories and good times. Brother Bob was born September 14, 1955, to Janice Lee Cope and Kenneth Harrington in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where they lived for several years. When his parents divorced, they moved back to Idaho Falls where he attended Central Junior High and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. After high school Bob traveled and lived with his close friends. Playing music and enjoying life was his passion. He played a Mountain Dulcimer on Carol King’s "Welcome Home" album. With his close friends, he took care of her ranch in the Idaho City area. From there he eventually moved to San Diego, California, where he lived and worked for several years. He was a Chargers and Padre’s fan, and a die hard Huskers follower through thick and thin. Bob moved back to Idaho Falls where he has lived ever since, working different jobs and hanging out with his family and friends. He fished, played golf, bowled, rode his bike, and entertained so very many, and was loved by all that knew him. There are so many stories with Brother Bob, so many friends, so many good times. He will be so very, very missed. He is survived by his mother, Janice, and father, Vard; sisters, Chrissy (Alex), Carla, and Karen; brothers, Jim (Debbie), Bill, and Thayne; nephews, Jason, Michael, Wil, and Noah; nieces, Tara, Tiffany, Nikki, and Kendra; uncle, Robert; many cousins, great nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; grandparents, Bert and Reba, Ralph and Rhea, "Granma Bernie," Elmer and Blanch, Uncle Jim, and Uncle Thales. We will never forget Brother Bob. In recollection, everyone who knew him is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be appropriate. In lieu of flowers, Brother Bob would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in his name. There will be a celebration of his life the second week of July. More details to come.
