BOB BEYE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Robert Russell Beye, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 10, 2009, from complications following an injury. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 3, 1922, near Haverhill, Iowa, to Russell Lowell Beye and Marle Maria Gruff Beye. He was raised on the family farm in Iowa where he worked alongside his four sisters and one brother. After graduation from high school, Robert took his fascination with radio technology and enrolled in technical school courses. He studied pre-radar and airborne technologies in Colorado, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota. In 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army Signal Corps as a radio operator. After being honorably discharged from his military service, Robert worked as a appliance technician for the Iowa Light and Power company. He later moved to Colorado and Nevada to work as a journeyman carpenter and electrician. In 1952, Robert married Ruby Satterwhite. Together they moved to Idaho Falls, but were later divorced. In 1978, Robert found love and married Betty Martin Neidner, his wife of 31 years. While living in Idaho Falls, Robert worked as a major appliance repairman, carpenter, and in real estate sales and investing. He was a lifelong member of the Local American Legion and the Disabled Veterans of America. He was also a member of the Elk's Lodge in Idaho Falls. His hobbies included working for others, fishing, hunting, and amateur treasure and rock hunting. He also greatly enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Betty Neidner, Beye, of Idaho Falls; Brother Gilbert Beye of Marshall County, Iowa, Sister, Marge Tigges, Des Moines, Iowa; Sister, Lucille Wagner. Tulsa, OK; Son, Duane (Cora) Beye of Las Vegas, Nevada; Stepson, Bobby (Carol) Neidner of Idaho Falls; Stepdaughter, Susie (Dave) Shrader of Afton, Wyoming; Stepdaughter, Patty (Blaine) Johnson of Idaho Falls; Stepdaughter, Jeannie Neidner of Idaho Falls; Stepson, Rick (Melissa) Neidner of Idaho Falls; 14 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren 4 Great-great Grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Nina Ross and Isabell Ritchie, a stepson, Kenny Neidner of Idaho Falls, one grandson, Stephen Neidner, and one granddaughter, Lisa Beye. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 1 to 1:45 p.m., both at Wood Funeral Home.
