Robert Charles Ammon, Sr., 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 10, 2024, at Eagle Rock Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia.
Robert was born February 24, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert I Ammon and Hazel Teter Ammon. He grew up and attended schools in Collinsville, Illinois, and attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.
Robert married Kathleen Swendsen and together they raised four children. He later married Donna J Ammon in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Robert worked as a mining engineer.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed collecting model trains and stock car racing. He enjoyed motorboats, playing Bingo, and listening to country music.
Robert is survived by his children: son, Robert Charles (Michelle Harmon) of Ammon, Jr. of Idaho Falls, ID, son, John Kendall (Michelle Isle) Ammon of Idaho Falls, ID, and daughter, Stacia (Lamont) Adkins of MI; siblings, David (Lisa) Ammon of Edwardsville, IL and Susan (John) Sij of Vernon, TX; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J Ammon; parents; son, Jeffrey Alan Ammon; and grandson, Tyler James Ammon.
