Felix Robert "Rob" Vandewiele III, 68, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on December 5, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Rob was born April 2, 1954, in Borger, Texas, to Felix Vandewiele Jr. and Betty Maurine Helco Vandewiele Sorenson. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1972. He also attended Ricks College and received an Associate's Degree. On October 5, 1978, Rob married his beautiful bride, Roxane Hillam, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they continued to live and raise their family. Rob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1992, they were sealed for time and all eternity as a family in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Near retirement, Rob really enjoyed working as a salesman with Teton Toyota Rob was a tower of strength and energy, full of life, and he enjoyed retirement. Rob had an infectious laugh of pure joy when anything funny happened. All his life, he was strong, tall, rugged, and a hard worker. As a teenager, Rob was a powerful snow skier who did crazy aerobatics. Rob enjoyed many other outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and glamping, but most of all, spending time with his family at Priest Lake. He would do anything for his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest. We will miss him more than words can say. Rob is survived by his loving wife, Roxane Hillam Vandewiele of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Cambria (Ed) Ernstrom of Wildwood, MO, Brittney (Trapper) Bradshaw of Riverton, WY, and Aubrey (Justin) Lanier of Ammon, ID; siblings, Lynda (Mark) Nelson of Palisades, ID, Mike (Betsy) Vandewiele of Boring, OR, Sherri (David) Jensen of Draper, UT, Trish (Jerry) Cromer of Kaysville, UT; and Carol Vandewiele Kennedy, WA; and six grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Ashton Pineview Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, prior to the service.
