Rickey Paul "Rick" Kynaston, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 16, 2017, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Rick was born February 14, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Glade Paul Kynaston and Mary Pauline Peck Kynaston. He grew up and attended schools in Pocatello.

Rick made his most recent home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He worked as a truck driver in Arizona. He owned a construction company in Washington.

Rick epitomized the quote, "I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection," (Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 1776). Life is all about change and growth. Sometimes the growth is painful; sometimes it’s beautiful. Rick’s growth was both . . . he truly grew brave. His bravery allowed an inward change to take place. He showed us that although he was afraid, he loved more than he feared. He loved his family and fought every day for one more day to spend with them.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Nicci (Lanny) Keeling of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Michael Dean (Dawn) Casady of Hansen, ID; son, Ryan Kynaston of Kennewick, WA; son, Justin Kynaston of Kennewick, WA; son, Erick Kynaston of Walla Walla, WA; son, Dustin Kynaston of Moses Lake, WA; sister, Paulette (Jim) Goodenough of Kennewick, WA; brother, Glade "Brent" (Mary) Kynaston of Phoenix, AZ; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
