Ricky D. Goeken, 71, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away April 13, 2013, at his home of natural causes. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Rick was born May 26, 1941, in Lenora, Kansas, to Max Goeken and Pauline Breeden Goeken. He graduated from Lenora High School. Rick served stateside as a private in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rick married Glenna Maurine Barrus March 26, 1976, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Rick worked for DeMott Tractor, a John Deere dealership, as a combine mechanic and service manager. He also worked for six years in the Ukraine, Turkmenistan, and Russia in the agricultural industry. Rick enjoyed woodworking, gardening & yard work, basketball, golf, reading, and history. Rick is survived by Glenna, his loving wife of 37 years; Son, Jeffery Goeken of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Stepson, Dillon David (Kristen) Mayes of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Allyson (Mark) Hunter of Idaho Falls; Son, Kristopher R. Goeken of Idaho Falls and 4 grandchildren; Mother, Pauline Goeken of Lenora, Kansas; Brother, Jim Goeken of Lenora, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father Max Goeken Sr. and his brother, Max Goeken, Jr. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Ammon Cemetery, with Kevin Murray officiating under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Group and the Idaho Honor Guard.
