Click Here To View Memorial Video OBITUARY INFORMATION Dick Tracy Richard Robert ‘Dick’ Tracy, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 3, 2013, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center of natural causes. He was under the care of Hearts for Hospice. Dick was born May 31, 1926, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Richard Lavearl Tracy and Viola Hammer Tracy. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army while still in high school. He served in Germany, France and Czechoslovakia. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge with Patton’s Third Army. On June 24, 1949, he married Leah Mary Morgan in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born six children. Dick and Leah made their home in Idaho Falls. He worked as a mechanic, and owned and operated his own business, Tracy Repair Shop. He also worked at AEC (the Site), then became an Auto Mechanic Teacher at Skyline High School until he retired. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served many years in scouting and in the Sunday School, and served as Elders Quorum President. He enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, camping and snowmobiling. He especially loved being with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was very well known for his mechanical ability - he could fix anything! Dick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Leah Tracy of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Patricia Jo (Steven) Huff of Lehi, UT; Daughter, Sandra Lee (Joseph) Marsden of Rexburg, ID; Daughter, Julie Ann ( R. Kim) Marshall of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Richard ‘Rick’ Kenneth (Kelly) Tracy of Boise, ID; Son, Robb Hal (Kimberly) Tracy of Santaquin, UT; Son, Cody Brett (Heidi) Tracy of Syracuse, UT; Brother, Jerry Lavearl (Karen) Tracy of Idaho Falls, ID . 27 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Jenson and Mardean Nave; brother, Burdett Tracy; and a great granddaughter, Emma Grace Marshall. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Mike Ball officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, October 11, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
