Biography

Richard L. Thoren, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 21, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born October 10, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa to Elmer Theodore Thoren and Odene Pearl Anderson Thoren. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He served in the U. S. Army. On September 10, 1955, he married Marilyn Raie Rogers in Des Moines in the Douglas Avenue Baptist Church. They lived in Des Moines for 3 years and moved to Waterloo for 5 years. They moved on to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho and then to Idaho Falls. Dick and Marilyn raised their family and enjoyed 56 years of marriage together. Richard was trained by his uncles to be a Denturist and attended schools in Las Vegas. He opened a Denture Center in 1967 in Idaho Falls. In 1968, he traveled the country with his friend, Reed Bowen, and together they were able to get the Denture labs legalized throughout Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada. He retired after 55 years of working in his own denture clinic. Survivors are: Wife: Marilyn Thoren, Idaho Falls, ID Son: William Thoren, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Michelle Deshon, Rigby, ID Granddaughter: Katrina Dale, Richland, WA Granddaughter: Sabrina Davis, Blackfoot, ID Granddaughter: Valyn Cromwell, Rigby, ID Grandson: Lucas Cromwell, Rigby, ID 3 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons Sister: Betty Lou Cox Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Rd.). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

Funeral Services

Friday November 26, 2010 , 2 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
