ARCADIA, FL -- OBITUARY INFORMATION
Richard Snarr
Richard Harding Snarr, 68, of Arcadia, Florida, formerly of Idaho Falls,
died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Desoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia, Florida,
of complications from a stroke.
He was born May 25, 1936, to Abner Wylie Snarr and Virginia Coughlin
Croft Snarr at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls. He started school at Oakland
Valley School, a one-room schoolhouse located just west of the Snarr farm.
He also attended Osgood, New Sweden, O.E. Bell Junior High, and Idaho
Falls High School. Richard served in the U. S. Army from 1959-1963 as
a cook and was decorated as a sharp shooter.
Richard was married to and later divorced from Kathleen Joy Galloway,
Linda Lee Smart, and Helen Launa Miller. He met Monick Claire Lacombe
in Montreal, Canada, while working for Teton Stage Lines as a tour bus
driver for the "Up With People Tour." On November 15, 1982,
he married Monick in Cleveland, Ohio. They worked as campground hosts
in New Jersey, Myrtle Beach, Margarita, California, New Hampshire, and
most recently at Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont, and wintered in
Florida.
Richard worked in the farming, meat cutting, construction and trucking
industries. Richard developed his woodworking and wood burning talents
into a business and sold his art at campgrounds and flea markets.
Youthful hobbies included playing the electric steel Hawaiian guitar
and rabbit hunting in the desert west of Idaho Falls. Richard loved traveling,
meeting people, and swapping stories, earning him many good friends. The
family expresses appreciation to Stan, Kathy and Sharon, who so kindly
cared for him.
Richard is survived by his wife, Monick, of Quebec, Canada, his daughter,
Cammie (Mike) Robinson, of Murray, Utah, three brothers, Robert (Linda)
Snarr, David (Carol) Snarr, Paul (Shelly) Snarr, and two sisters, Kathy
(Don) Fontes, and Faye (LeRoy) Garcia, all of Idaho Falls, a granddaughter,
and a son, Jeffrey (Snarr) Rich. He is preceded in death by two sons,
Brett and Val Gene, his parents, and two brothers, Joseph, and Steve.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 10,
2004, at Fielding Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed
by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
