Richard Sandoval, 68, of Ririe, passed away August 6, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Rick was born April 4, 1955, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Ersinia Montano Herrera and Albert Joseph Herrera. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho and graduated from Bonneville High School.
On November 11, 1977, he married Dawna Joan Ker Sandoval in Idaho Falls. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 11, 1989. Rick and Joan made their home in Ririe, Idaho, where Rick worked as a motor coach operator for the INL.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping, cooking, travel, snow mobiling, and being the best damn Papa ever.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Joan Sandoval of Ririe, ID; daughter, Heather (Shiloh) Wagoner of Wasilla, AK; daughter, Jessica (Chris) Ehardt of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Julie (Jason) Parsons of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Veronica (Jeff) Pasley of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, George (Sammie) Sandoval of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Sylvia (David) Wadsworth of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Michael (Trudy) Herrera of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Vera Davis of Boise, ID; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Tommy Sandoval.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Willow Creek Ward, 14061 North 130 East, with Bishop Steven Holm officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
