Richard "Dick" Norton Marler, 82, of St. Anthony, passed away April 2, 2024, at Homestead Assisted Living.
Dick was born January 26, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Morris Glen Marler and Margaret Thirty Kroll Marler. He grew up and attended schools in Pocatello, and graduated from Pocatello High School.
On July 1, 1963, he married Sharon Kay Wilde in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dick and Sharon made their home all over the world. He served in the Navy, retiring after twenty years. Dick also worked at the Juvenile Detention Center in St. Anthony, Idaho.
He enjoyed fishing, photography, sketching, writing, and welcoming new souls into the world. Dick always adored the new souls. He was also an author.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Leisl (Brian) Bonelli of Midvale, UT; daughter, Melissa Marler of Carmichael, CA; bonus children, Edgar Argueta, Abbey Argueta, Jessie Argueta, Micayla Calderon, Christina Hollist, and Dustin Hollist; brother, Frank (Sandy) Marler of Oxnard, CA; sister-in-law, Bertha Marler; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Marler; parents; and brothers, Marvin Marler, Carl Marler, and Norman “Punk” Marler.
Services will be held at a later date.
