Richard "Dick" Eugene Muffler Sr., 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 5, 2018, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
Dick was born December 29, 1931, in Mayfield, UT, to John Robert Muffler and Rachel Marie Jensen Muffler. He grew up and attended schools in Jerome.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He married Mary McKenney on June 11, 1955, and were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 7, 1962. She passed away on March 7, 2000.
On September 30, 2003, he married Beverly Fleming Hammonds Muffler in Lubbock, Texas, LDS temple.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as the LDS Branch President, served in the Family History Center in Idaho Falls and held many church callings. Loved taking road trips and enjoying his family and their accomplishments.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Muffler of Idaho Falls; son, Stephen (Bernie) Muffler of Ashland, ME; daughter, Katherine Muffler of Orem, UT; son, Richard (Rick) (Pierrette) Muffler, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Joseph (Amelia) Muffler of Idaho Falls; daughter, Tamara (Jose) Armenta of Idaho Falls; sister, Verla Burk of Tacoma, WA; Rachel (Fred) Parnell of Hickory, NC; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 3 stepchildren and 5 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; sister, Noami Luchetti; sister, Ethel Sorenson; brother, Larry Muffler; brother, John Muffler; sister, Aleda Muffler; and step-son, Shane Hammonds.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward, 1345 Clarence Drive in Idaho Falls, with Bishop David Hammond, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
