Richard Duane Mondy

Richard Duane Mondy, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 4, 2021.

Richard was born December 16, 1931, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Samuel Kelly Mondy and Ozella Rhoden Mondy. He grew up and attended schools in Clarendon. He also attended LSU earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

On June 28, 1985, he married Maria Pineda in Olongapo, Philippines. Richard worked as an accountant for TMC in Roswell, New Mexico, before retirement. Richard and Maria then made their forever home in Idaho Falls.

He was a member of the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golf and hunting. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Maria Mondy of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Philip (Rachel) Mondy of Virginia Beach, VA; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
