Richard Jay Miskin, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 5, 2015, at his son's home in Lehi, Utah. He was under the care of his family and hospice.
Richard was born December 5, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lynn Richard Miskin and Vera Jensen Miskin. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho, Arizona, Utah, and in Mancos, Colorado, where he graduated from Mancos High School.
Richard worked as a uranium miner, bar owner, truck driver, tire shop worker, and janitor.
He was married 4 times, most recently on Feb 4th 2003 he married Virginia Palmer Miskin in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He loved her very much, and they finished growing old together.
Richard had a passion for gardening and would spend much of his free time working in it. He also wrote in his journals every single day for the last 35 years of his life. He was a food storage fanatic and a collector of all things interesting.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a temple worker and attended the temple many times each week. He loved going to dances and loved going to the Senior Citizen’s Center, where he was a DJ and sang for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Palmer Miskin; and a grandson, Bryce Miskin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS 13th Ward, 955 Memorial Drive, with Bishop Oliver Thuernagle officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 Noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
