KURT KELLY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Richard Kurt Kelly, 45, died February 15, 2007, in Idaho Falls, as a result of the cumulative effects and complications of diabetes.
Kurt was born June 25, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Richard Henry "Dick" Kelly and Ethel Vesta Ward Kelly. Kurt loved the outdoors. He camped, hiked and spent a lot of time alone enjoying nature and his surroundings. Kurt was an excellent skier and a member of the Ski Patrol at Brighton, Utah.
Kurt graduated from Bonneville High School and attended a trade school and some college in Salt Lake City, Utah. While living in Salt Lake City, he worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a photogrammetrist, compiling and digitizing photographic data for use in various earth measurements. He was then employed by an engineering firm, where he worked as a cartographer with "top secret" clearance, researching and preparing topographical maps for the Department of Defense. He also worked as a lab technician for a firm involved in geologic and petroleum exploration, and formed his own business that re-manufactured specialty computer hardware.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Andrew R. "Skip" (Wanda) Kelly, and a sister, Kerry Lee Kelly. He is survived by four brothers and sisters, Rita Luke (Pete) Schobert, Renae (Chuck) Roberts, Danny C. (Kerri) Kelly, all of Salt Lake City, and Brady W. Kelly of Seminole, Florida.
A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at the Ammon Cemetery, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
