Richard Judy

Richard Aaron Judy, 74, of Ammon, passed away September 9, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Richard was born January 28, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ira and Dorothy May Hammer Judy. He grew up and attended schools in Ammon and graduated from Bonneville High School. He attended Ricks College and Idaho State University where he received his electrical degree. After attending ISU, he worked for FMC of Pocatello for twelve years. The family then moved to Ammon where he worked for Jewel Electric for two years. He then pursued his true passion of being his own boss. He opened Twins Electric and started Judy’s Noon Creek Angus Ranch and farmed in Ammon. On October 8, 1966, he married Lynda Lowe in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 4, 1974. They were blessed with six children, Marie, Aaron, Adam, Alan, Morgan and Adrian. Richard and Lynda made their home in Ammon where he worked as an electrician, farmer and rancher. He was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was president of every Priesthood Quorum from Deacons to High Priest, Sunday School President, Seventies Instructor, Elder’s Quorum leader, Sunday School teacher and Primary teacher. He also served as a veil worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, his cows and farming, but his greatest joy was his wife, children and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lynda Judy of Ammon; daughter, Marie (James) Olsen of Idaho Falls; son, Aaron (Rebecca) Judy of Ammon; son, Adam (Lacey) Judy of Idaho Falls; son, Alan (Chyllia) Judy of Ammon; daughter, Morgan (Michael) Stanger of Ammon; son, Adrian Judy of Idaho Falls; father, Ira Judy of Ammon; brother, Raymond Judy of Idaho Falls; sister, Venita Peterson of Idaho Falls; brother, Kent (Karen) Judy of Bone; sister, Susann (Kim) Kohler of Shelley, ID; 21 grandchildren and expecting 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Judy, and his brother, Dwain, and his spouse, Louise Judy. A special thank you to the staff of EIRMC and Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Richard will be deeply missed by all of those whose paths he crossed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Ammon 29th Ward, 2200 Stafford Drive, with Bishop Jared Randall officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
