Richard Ray Heenan

Richard Ray Heenan, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 27, 2024, at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Richard was born May 10, 1945, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and raised by his parents, Edmund and Ruby Mae Middleton Scharf. He grew up and attended schools in California, and graduated from Santa Cruz High School. He also studied Business at Cabrillo Community College.

On June 9, 1973, he married Patricia Aline Bounds in Santa Cruz, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland California Temple. Richard worked in the sales industry and owned Northwest Sales.

Richard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed trap shooting and  hunting. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping with his family. Richard loved animals.

Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Aline Heenan of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Shawna Lentz (Shawn Dodge) of Live Oak, CA, and Celeste (Robby) Wideman, of Chico, California; sister, Shirley Mosley, of Santa Cruz, CA; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Edmund Scharf, daughter, Rachelle Heenan, and brother Paul Heenan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Westview Ward, 2020 Charlotte Drive. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
